Strange Soft Companions: Needle Felted Creatures Workshop

Step into a tactile, otherworldly making experience with artist and educator Andrea Dupree (Curious Bluebird). In this 3-hour needle felting workshop, you’ll learn the foundational techniques of sculpting wool while bringing your own soft creature (somewhere between a monster, an alien, and a familiar friend from an unknown world) to life. During the process we’ll also explore examples of unusual flora and fauna to spark your imagination. Using colorful wool fibers, participants will create 3D forms that can become pocket-sized pets, bag charms, ornaments, wearable art, essential oil diffusers, or unique art objects for your space. Whether you’re new to fiber art or an experienced maker, you’ll experience a transformative, meditative process in a joyful environment that supports personal expression, skill building and experimentation.
